PROMESS Montage- und Prüfsysteme GmbH
About us
PROMESS develops intelligent assembly and testing technology for demanding production processes worldwide. For over 30 years, we have specialized in servo presses, joining systems, and complete technologies for solving complex assembly and testing tasks.
Our systems are used wherever the highest precision, process reliability, and data traceability are required – for example, in the automotive industry, electromobility, medical technology, electronics, and mechanical engineering. With our electromechanical servo presses, customers implement highly precise joining, press-fitting, testing, and assembly processes – efficiently, flexibly, and sustainably.
The core of many applications is our servopresses (UFM) with integrated control technology. It enables precise force-displacement monitoring and seamless, real-time process control. The portfolio is complemented by high-quality standard components as well as individually developed complete solutions – precisely tailored to our customers' requirements.
PROMESS was founded in Berlin in 1977 by Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Lechler. From an engineering office for production-related metrology, it has developed into an internationally active technology company with a strong innovative drive. The goal remains the same to this day: to understand technical challenges and develop high-performance, practical solutions.
At our Berlin location, a dedicated team of over 100 employees works continuously to develop innovative technologies "Made in Germany" and to support customers worldwide in optimizing their production processes.

Servopresses for force-distance-monitored assembly and testing tasks 0.2 - 1,000 kN
PROMESS offers a wide range of servopresses for force-distance-monitored assembly and testing tasks. With our UFM Line5 RX, UFM Line5/5s, UFM Precision5, UFM Compact5, and UFM Classic product lines, we offer systems for a broad spectrum of applications. The UFM Line5 RX joining modules can be intuitively operated via a web interface in all common browsers. The RX controller can control up to four mechanics and 16 sensors in parallel. This enables tasks such as synchronization and forming. Our UFM Line5/5s joining systems are characterized by their optimized price-performance ratio. They are available in standardized sizes and in force ranges from 1 to 200 kN. Our UFM Precision5 NC joining systems are the specialists in the fields of microtechnology, the watch industry, and medical technology. The servo press's precision mechanics, high-resolution sensors, and intelligent control enable results in the micrometer range. Our UFM Compact5 joining modules are particularly suitable for tasks with tight pitches, such as joining valve seat inserts and guides. The servo motor in this model is positioned parallel to the housing, ensuring a low overall height for the servo press. The units in the UFM Classic series offer a wide selection of load ranges and nominal strokes, thus enabling numerous configuration options. Depending on the customer's requirements, the servo press is equipped with strain gauge or piezo force measurement technology and features a flexible drive concept in which the motor can be angled or mounted inline with the press mechanism as required. The main areas of application for servo presses are e-mobility, battery assembly, transmission, engine, or chassis assembly. Our servo presses are also used in other industries, such as medical technology, the watch industry, microtechnology, and electrical manufacturing.

Electro-mechanical Assembly Press Line5 RX
The servopress control Revolution X (RX) comprises the UFM RX joining mechanism with a force range of 0.2 to 200 kN, the RX controller, the RX software, the PDM-S RX digital preamplifier, the power amplifier, and corresponding accessories. The core of the new system is the new RX controller for parallel control of up to four mechanisms and 16 sensors. With a measuring frequency of 2 kHz, assembly processes, as well as measurement and testing tasks, can be precisely controlled and monitored. Faster program loading times and faster processing of process data reduce cycle times. Data evaluation takes place directly in the RX controller. Up to 1,001 programs and 100,000 process curves can be stored directly in the controller. Transfer to the higher-level PLC is faster than before thanks to the use of the high-performance real-time Ethernet bus system. The new RX software offers a new, integrated concept with sophisticated user guidance for intuitive operation via a web interface. A clear dashboard ensures clear structures and enables the user to immediately start their process. PLC knowledge is not required to create the joining program. During program creation, the user is supported by input validation and integrated online help. Operation via the web interface offers flexible access to the joining system, regardless of time, location, operating system, or (mobile) device. The days when the software had to be installed on a local computer are a thing of the past. Immediate availability via the web browser accelerates both commissioning and the installation of updates, maintenance, and service.

Virtual commissioning with controller RX
Virtual commissioning with Controller RX Use our demo kit to import and test your process data. We store a virtual axis with your desired force-displacement curve on the Controller RX. This allows you to extensively test the PLC and database connection in advance, store measured values and prepare your system for real use. You can detect and rectify errors, optimize your process and thus shorten the commissioning time of the real system. The demo kit consists of a stand with the RX controller and a 230 V connection.
