The three-day Siemens internal conference at the Nuremberg Serminaris Hotel from March 7th to March 9th, 2023, focused on industrial IoT and digitalization trends such as Xcelerator and the Metaverse, sustainability and technology topics, as well as Edge Computing, AI, and the Digital Twin. The conference provided Siemens executives and experts with the opportunity to present and discuss strategic projects, partnerships, and outstanding customer reports.
Special Lecture on the evosoft IoT Integration Service
In their special lecture, experts Bernd Meyer and Erik Weidinger introduced the evosoft IoT Integration Service. This is a semantic data integration suite that bridges the gap between operational technology (OT) devices and equipment, information technology (IT) systems, and digitalization applications. It integrates various IT systems and offers cross-industry integration of OT protocols. Heterogeneous OT world protocols are interpreted and described using open standards (W3C Web of Things) with sayWoT! providing opportunities for filtering, mapping, and aggregating OT data. IT and OT data are semantically enriched and linked together. Knowledge graph technologies provide a semantic model for the central and consistent description of assets and data based on open standard ontologies, including the Siemens Ontology Library (ontology.siemens.com). In conjunction with an integrated KPI service component, complex calculations can be defined, implemented, and results can be easily presented. Due to its platform-independent architecture, the IoT Integration Service can be deployed and used in any customer environment.
