About us
halstrup-walcher is a medium-sized company, which has been in family-ownership ever since it was founded in 1946. CEO Jürgen Walcher looks back at the impressive rise of his company: "The focus of our products has changed significantly since those early days. halstrup-walcher GmbH is successful in four business segments: positioning systems for automated format changeover in machines, pressure measuring technology for cleanrooms, air-conditioning and OEM applications, intelligent drive as well as development including mechatronics, electronics and software and calibration services. The company's approx. 200 employees develop and manufacture both standard and customer-specific solutions. Its level of in-house production is remarkable but necessary to produce all those customised solutions in an appropriate time. halstrup-walcher's strong quality assurance programme and lean processes have made it a highly professional partner offering impressive performance in terms of quality, costs and punctuality.

Direct drives
PSD direct drives are mechatronic systems with integrated control, bus interface and absolute measurement system without battery. They are ideal for automatic format changeover. Compared to servo drives, the direct drives PSD convince with significantly more compact designs and less wiring effort, as no external controller is required – an economical solution for format adjusters. Design of the direct drives PSD: - 5 different data interfaces for bus communication with the machine control: CANopen, IO-Link, PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP (others on request) - Performance data: from 1 Nm to 8 Nm nominal torque - Mounting dimensions: Nema 17 and Nema 23 version with 5 or 8 mm solid shaft - Output shafts for easy mounting on spindles: Optional hollow shafts with 8/14 mm - 2 different IP protection classes: IP50 or IP65 - Various integrated software and protection functions - Optional software modules for IO-Link connection
Positioning systems
Are you looking for the right positioning systems for your machine? With our positioning system construction kit of the PSx 3 family, you are flexible in adapting to different areas of application, but have the same basis for the mounting dimensions, installation space and control. You select the appropriate IP protection class and design and can also combine them within the machine. This gives you flexibility when mounting and installing the units. You choose the bus communication specified by your customer and do not have to rework the control system. And we also offer various solutions for the cabling to enable the best possible integration into the machine control system. Modular positioning systems PSE/PSS/PSW: - 4 different types: Horizontal and vertical construction with different hollow shafts - 10 different data interfaces for bus communication with the control system: CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, DeviceNet, Modbus RTU, Sercos, EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, POWERLINK, IO-Link - Performance data: from 1 Nm to 25 Nm nominal torque - Output shafts for easy mounting, e.g. on spindles: 8/14 mm hollow and solid shafts possible - 3 different IP protection classes: IP54, IP65 and IP68 - The stainless steel version PSW meets hygiene requirements - Choose from certification options: CE, UKCA, NRTL and STO partial safety function - Optionally with integrated snap-in brake - Optionally with jog key connections for operating without a control system
Smart PSxHub
halstrup-walcher has developed the intelligent PSxHub to implement the parallel operation of positioning systems for format adjustment as efficiently as possible: As an active bus component, the smart connection element offers simple integration for up to 16 positioning systems from the PSD family (PSD 4xx with IO-Link), ensures smooth communication with the controller and is economical thanks to the single-cable solution with unshielded, standard A-coded cables, among other things. The flexibly configurable synchronization control and monitoring integrated in the PSxHub ensures synchronized parallel operation of the controlled positioning systems. As a flexible technology platform, the PSxHub enables a wider performance spectrum (e.g. in terms of power requirements and synchronization) compared to classic IO-Link hubs without a control function. With its compact housing design from 14.2 x 16.4 x 6.4 cm (control cabinet version), it is an efficient and space-saving solution for central data and power transmission. The PSxHub is available for the Industrial Ethernet systems PROFINET and EtherCAT (others on request).
