Sigma-X - The latest evolution of Yaskawa servo technology
Yaskawa's high-end Sigma series AC servo systems have proven themselves for decades in such diverse applications as packaging machines, semiconductor manufacturing, timber processing or digital printing machines. And with Sigma-X as the latest evolution in the series, Yaskawa is once again setting new standards in performance and ease of use. The very compact servo motors allows for the design of ever smaller machines. At the same time, the versatile tuning functions can be learned and applied very easily. Mechanically induced vibrations and resonances in the machine body are automatically detected and counteracted by the system. The acceleration sensors integrated in the new servo motors can now detect unwanted machine conditions at an early stage. In addition, the servo amplifier provides users with a variety of helpful information, such as electrical consumption, current power and temperature reserves, maintenance cycle indicators, vibrations, etc. This means that the performance of the machine is continuously monitored, analyzed and optimized in order to ensure maximum availability. The system is currently available for 200 V with a power output of 50 W to 15 kW. Models for 400 V will follow in the near future. Servo amplifiers for the simultaneous connection of up to three servo motors are also now available, as well as models with special firmware for use in gantry systems. The available interfaces are Analog/Pulse and EtherCAT. All servo amplifiers are fitted with Safe Torque Off (STO) as a functional safety feature. An option card for additional safety functions plus FSoE (Safety over EtherCAT) will be available in early 2025.

Compact GA500 inverter drive – Flexible app-based motor selection and setup

The most important features of the GA500: - One drive for controlling any induction, permanent magnet or synchronous reluctance motor - Built-in EMC filter and brake chopper to save space in the control cabinet - Simple motor setup without the need for auto-tuning simplifies optimization with connected machines - Easy startup without a power supply by programming from a PC or smartphone

SLIO – The smart control and I/O system
SLIO is a modular and extremely compact control and I/O system. It can be combined and used with any of our established systems and many systems from other manufacturers. The completely redesigned SLIO system sets another benchmark in the automation industry, by combining high performance and the latest functions with a clever mechanical concept in an extremely compact design. It also offers innovations in control and visualization, for example new, extended modules for the established SLIO IO series.

GA700 - industrial applications
GA700 drives are designed to be easily integrated into systems and machinery. GA700 drives incorporate a variety of features which eliminate the need for peripherals. Simple wiring and smart features enable basic setup in just 5 minutes, significantly reducing time and cost. By incorporating the latest motor control technologies for induction, permanent magnet, and synchronous reluctance motors, the GA700 drives provide superior control performance with minimized energy consumption. The robust design featuring coated PCBs allows operation in 50 °C without derating, while machine monitoring functions prevent sudden production stops.

HC10DTP - Powerful cobot for simple industrial applications in harsh environments
The MOTOMAN HC10DTP Cobot is the perfect entry-level model for automating your production. With a payload of 10 kg and a reach of 1,379 mm (effective 1.200 mm). With its IP67 protection class this cobot is particularly suitable for material handling such as palletizing, packaging or pick & place.

MOTOMAN GP20 - Fast & precise handling robot with 20 kg payload
Predestined for a wide range of handling and assembly tasks. On account of its slim wrist, the 6-axis MOTOMAN GP20 is predestined for a wide range of handling and assembly tasks within a confined space – such as loading/unloading of tool or injection moulding machines, assembly or handling of workpieces. In addition, the GP20 boasts a high degree of rigidity that make it especially suitable for machining or grinding tasks. This latest addition to the portfolio Yaskawa customers means a wider choice: the MOTOMAN GP25 is still available for applications that call for a hollow arm design. Besides its slim design, a payload of 20 kg, the long reach of over 1.8 m and high resistance of the wrist against penetrating dusts and liquids (IP67) make the MOTOMAN GP20 an extremely versatile industrial robot. Like all models of the GP series (GP stands for “general purpose”), due to cutting-edge servo-technology this new addition achieves extremely good cycle times with outstanding repeatability.

MOTOMAN HD7/HD8 - Hygienic handling robots for the life sciences sector
Hygienic handling robots for the life sciences sector. The robots in the new MOTOMAN HD series (HD stands for “Hygienic Design”) are able to carry out a wide range of handling tasks in hygiene-sensitive areas including laboratory automation, the pharmaceutical sector and the food industry. They fulfil the stringent requirements of sterile and cleanroom environments: in addition to being suitable for use in hygienic areas up to the highest cleanliness level of GMP Class A in accordance with EHEDG, EN 1672-2 and ISO 14159, they also comply with cleanroom class in accordance with ISO 14644-1, cleanroom class 5 in the case of the HD7 and cleanroom class 4 in the case of the HD8, according to the measurement and evaluation procedure defined in ISO 14644-14. The new series is launched with the MOTOMAN HD7 and HD8 models, offering a payload of 7 kg and 8 kg respectively. They are manufactured at the Yaskawa plant in Kočevje, Slovenia, which is also where they were developed. The MOTOMAN HD series is based on the 6-axis high-performance robots of the well-established MOTOMAN GP portfolio. Like the MOTOMAN industrial robots, they utilise Yaskawa’s latest Sigma 7 servo drive technology, achieving an extremely high level of performance in terms of movement, acceleration and precision. The movement range of axis 1 is +/- 180°. The robots can be combined with the universal YRC1000 robot controller or the YRC1000micro compact controller, both of which offer a wide range of modern options in terms of control, communication, safety and software.

MOTOMAN GP4 - Small, compact Motoman robot
With axle speeds of up to 1,000 degrees/s the MOTOMAN GP4 is repeatability agile and ultra-fast. Its outstanding repeat precision of +/- 0.01 mm makes it suitable for many automated applications that call for the highest degree of precision with small workpieces, e.g. flexible handling and feeding of small parts, assembly, loading and unloading of machines or time-critical inspection tasks. In addition, the compact robot is characterised by a small footprint and attractive price-performance ratio. Part of the MOTOMAN GP series: Like its big brothers of the MOTOMAN GP series, the GP4 offers all advantages of this class. “GP” stands for “General Purpose” and thus suitable for a wide range of uses. The 6-axis robots are designed in conformance with high Protection Class IP67 (special protection against the penetration of moisture and dust). They can be deployed in harsh working conditions and are easy to clean. The robot can operate without restriction in any position; the robot cables can be inserted either sideways or through the base. The integral media supply in the axes optimises the setup of grippers and ensures the highest degree of reliability in operation. Wide range of applications in small parts handling: Due to its small space requirements, the GP4 is particularly suitable for use in the electronics industry. In the assembly of precision modules, the GP4 is at least equal to a fast rotary transfer machine. And as a 6-axis robot it is predestined for modern, flexible pick & place small part feeding with vibration plate and image processing. And last but not least, the attractive price and compact size makes the versatile GP4 6-axis robot an interesting alternative to conventional automation with Cartesian motion systems.
