About us
For more than 20 years, our Team has specialized in offering our customers solutions for the use of mechanical pressure switches and sensors for numerous measured variables.
The TIVAL Sensors product program includes devices from the areas of pressure, level, temperature and flow rate detection and drive technology.
For the measurement of pressure, the TIVAL range includes robust mechanical pressure switches up to +400 bar with ATEX, GL and VdS approval. Electronic pressure measurement is offered by a large selection of pressure transmitters in different designs and with different sensor elements for a wide variety of applications. Digital contact manometers, differential pressure transmitters for gases and liquids and electronic pressure switches with display and switching output are also available.
The wide range of products for level detection starts with simple float switches and reed contact products and continues with hydrostatic level probes, vibrating level switches, guided radar and non-contact ultrasonic level monitoring.
Resistance thermometers, thermocouples and temperature sensors with measuring transducers (e.g. 4 ... 20 mA) can be supplied in all commercially available, known designs and with ATEX or GL approval. Custom-made products on customer request can also be implemented.
Soft starters are available in different series from 8 A to 3500 A, depending on the application profile. DC brakes up to a motor output of 200 kW are also part of the delivery program.
Flow measurement can be implemented both with an orifice system - for small quantities, with low pressure loss and as a high temperature variant - and with calorimetric flow sensors.
In addition, Ex isolating amplifiers & Zener diodes are offered for coupling mechanical and electronic devices. Small controls, e.g. for pressure and fill level monitoring, complete the program.

Control Pressure Switches / mechanical pressure switches
For more than 20 years our staff members are specialized to create solutions attuned to the use of mechanical pressure switches and pressure controllers. A wide variety of various series is at hand to meet this objective. We offer equipment with high accuracy, with one or more switching contacts, miniature pressure switches for vacuum or high pressure applications. Overall, control pressure switches are available in 9 different sizes for applications from 10 mbar up to 400 bar. Approvals are held for ship and offshore use (DNV GL), firefighting equipment (VdS) and for intrinsically safe circuits in chemical and mining industries (ATEX).
Pressure Transmitters & Electronic Pressure Switches
TIVAL Sensors offers a broad range of pressure transmitters and pressure switches to meet with multiple application requirements. Dependent on the operating location and application we provide products with metal-thin film, ceramic or silicone measuring cell. Various available shapes, forms and output functions are ensuring a perfect process adaption: - Electronic pressure switches - Differential pressure transmitters for liquids and gaseous media - Measuring ranges from vacuum up to +4.000 bar - Absolute pressure transmitters - ATEX approval for hazardous environments (ATEX zone 0 and 1) - DNV GL approval for maritime applications - Customer-specific designs and solutions
Level Control
TIVAL Sensors GmbH is a specialist when it comes to level control, in particular for water technology applications. A wide range of devices providing various measuring principles is at hand for almost all specific tasks. Starting with float-switches, magnetic floaterswitches, conductive measuring systems, reed-contact systems, vibrating level switches, hydrostatic level probes, hall-sensors and ending with guided radar systems shows our range of possibilities. We evaluate, display, switch and measure all relevant level values. The product applications range from fresh water wells, liquid storage tanks, open waters, sewage plants and boreholes to gearbox level control.
Temperature Detection
Our resistance thermometers and thermocouple elements are solving all your temperature-measuring tasks. We offer surface contact temperature sensors, cable- and cabinet-type sensors and build-in sensors. Further on, temperature transmitters are part of our product range. ATEX approval is provided for quite a number of types. Our products can be found in almost all construction and mechanical engineering sector machinery, in the furnace building, process technology and in industrial testing and control technologies. Customer-specific solutions are part of our technical problem-solving skills.
Drive Technology
TIVAL Sensors Softstarters ESA series stand for a low-wear and gentle machinery and facility start-up. Our soft starters are reducing starting current and torque of three-phase asynchronous motors. High mechanical stress on shafts, chains, belts, gears or conveyor belts is avoided by cutting off the peak voltage and prevention from jerky movements. On pump applications in particular the soft-stop-function perfectly avoids pressure shocks in pipeline networks. TIVAL Sensors offers soft starters with 3- or 2-phase circuitry for various loads and functions. The available nominal current range values start at 8 A and finish at 3500 A. For effective and zero-wear breaking of three-phase asynchronous motors we offer DC injection breaks. Various types are available for engine power from 5 to 200 KW.
Fluid Flow Measurement
The monitoring of flows in pipelines is done by calorimetric flow sensors for viscous liquids. The FK 12 series provides various immersion depths into the pipeline by combination of various probe lengths and mounting through bolt joint. This assures an optimal probe positioning in the media current. A spring-mounted shutter is used for small quantity measurements. A 4…20mA output signal is provided. Flow volumes from 1 to 80 liters are measurable.
