Mounting clamps with high retaining power
New to Ganter’s product range: Mounting clamps with swivel ball joint for precise adjustments with high stop torque for low torque power as well as the option of customer-specific adaptations. For some time Ganter has offered axial ball joints under standard GN 782 that are particularly suitable for smaller installation spaces. These joints can be mounted with a knurled union nut if a lower stop torque is required, while a higher stop torque can be achieved with an open ended wrench. Ganter has now introduced the GN 784 mounting clamp with swivel ball joint series for applications which require a higher stop torque while. The new mounting clamp provides a larger rotating range of 360° around the vertical axis, thereby ±90° of the position predetermined by the swivel ball joint and ±30°of tilt angle in every position. The joint is therefore ideal for the adjustable assembly of cameras, lighting objects, air nozzles, monitors or scanners. The swivel ball joint mounting is as easy as it is ingenious: a screw with a cone tip which is operated through an adjustable hand lever or with an internal hexagon moves the casing downwards and presses the ball into the pan-shaped base element. The high effectiveness of the clamping mechanism allows for high retaining powers to be achieved on the ball with a small tightening torque. In addition, the combination of the material surfaces between the ball and casing (aluminum, black – anodized) contributes to high friction within the fixed joint. For clamping with infrequent adjustment the hand lever can be omitted and the internal hexagon threaded stud option used instead. GN 784 mounting clamps come in four sizes, with the ball joint available in a tapped thread or threaded stud type version. Customer-specific swivel ball joint connections can be supplied economically even in comparatively small unit quantities.

For the perfect edge
The highest quality: Ganter is introducing a range of edge protection profiles with and without sealing function Ganter is expanding its range of products once again. Edge protections profiles and edge protection seal profiles ensure secure front-side finishes on covers, cable ducts or openings, for example. Ganter are thereby offering everything that constitutes perfect sheet metal working from one source – even for smaller or occasional use. The edge protection profiles are delivered on rolls of 20 or 50 metres in length, without a minimum order value. The edge protection profiles build not only an optically clean finish, they also protect surfaces from damage and prevent cables or tubes from being worn down in their encasing. In addition, they speed up the production phase as the burring or chamfering of edges is largely eliminated. GN 2184 is available in two sizes, is made of extruded PVC and can be assembled manually. The metal clamp insert prevents it from detaching.

Toggle clamp product range expanded
Latch-type toggle clamps, such as vertical and horizontal acting toggle clamps, have been a permanent feature of the Ganter product range for over 30 years. The expansion of both toggle clamp genres make them the ideal solution for an even wider range of applications. Safety hooks keep the toggle clamp closed securely GN 820.3 horizontal acting toggle clamps and GN 851.3 and GN 852.3 latch type toggle clamps provide a new function: an additional lock prevents inadvertent detachment caused, for example, by vibrations or incorrect operation. When the toggle clamp is closed, the additional safety hook automatically locks and holds the lever in a closed position. The spanner can then be opened, or rather, detached through a simple one-hand operation. The safety hook on the horizontal acting toggle clamps is operated by the index finger, while for the latch type toggle clamps it is opened by pressing from above with the thumb. Now including spindle assembly with rubber tip As previously, Ganter’s horizontal and vertical acting toggle clamps leave no wish unfulfilled: we offer horizontal or vertical mounting bases, as an assembly kit or as a U-bar or solid bar versions. These components have long served as reliable standard parts. The possibility of including an adjustable spindle with a rubber tip is a new option. Until now, these had to be ordered separately as an accessory, for example as the GN 708.1 standard part. The spindle assemblies included in the set correspond to the standard sizes most commonly used – should a specific configuration be required, this can of course be ordered separately. Along with the toggle clamp versions with additional locking as described above, spindle assemblies are also available for GN 810 (vertical acting toggle clamps), GN 812 (with dual flanged mounting base), GN 820 (horizontal acting toggle clamps), as well as for the GN 860 (pneumatically operated spanner) models. Special solution becomes standard
When it comes to cam action indexing plungers, Ganter offers something very special: the new cam action indexing plungers from the GN 721 series with stop for left- or right-handed operation available with optional locking function. Admittedly, Ganter already offers a very wide range of cam action indexing plungers. Yet frequent inquiries from customers for special designs prompted the company to add another standard part to its extensive standard product range. More specifically, the cam action indexing plungers from the GN 721 series differ in that they limit the range of action to 180 degrees and offer the option of left- or right-hand lock. This allows multi-lock applications to be created with the same direction of movement, and therefore easier handling of valves or other components. In principle, the curve transforms the 180 degree rotation of the lock into an axial lift. If the spring-loaded lock does not unintentionally snap back from this end position, other optional designs with reliable lock notch are available. Also optional: the lock nut pursuant to ISO 8675, which counters the cam action indexing plunger that can be mounted via the external thread in a specific assembly position, and thus guarantees a defined, construction-related locking position. In addition to the normal steel design, the cam action indexing plunger is also available in stainless steel. In both material versions, the lock is available with and without polyamide valve. Other customer-specific special solutions are also possible—for example, cam action indexing plungers with different curve slopes, smaller swivel ranges, special geometries, with a center position or specific locking ranges. Hinges with safety switch in sophisticated design and with unique function!
GN 139.1 hinges with safety switch are used for hinged and opening protective equipment such as doors or covers on machines, in plants, in automation engineering and in the automobile industry. The hinge is compact and sturdy, making it the ideal choice for many applications. Classed as protective equipment, GN 139.1 hinges with safety switch can prevent hazardous situations as the contacts change their status from a defined opening angle forward. This switching point can be adjusted within the range +4°. The electrical switching elements are fully integrated in the mechanical hinge and are invisible from the outside, allowing the hinges to be classed under IP 67 (plug-type version) and IP 69K (cable version). Two contact switches offer double safety! The concealed bolt attachment from the back also makes this hinge particularly tamper-proof. The GN 139.2 hinges are similar in design and differ externally only by featuring a connector plug, making them the ideal choice as add-on hinge with unchanged perfect appearance. Flat and angled mounting plates are available to mount the hinges, allowing them to be mounted from the front or in the clearance between door frame and door. Oblong holes are designed for mounting to profile systems. In general, the GN 139.1 hinges with safety switch conform to many international standards and directives.

Securely Fastened Loads
When something needs to be lifted, a crane, ropes or chains are needed – plus anchoring points on the load itself. Ganter offers a wide range of solutions here. The classic and simplest lifting points are lifting eye bolts according to DIN 580, which are screwed into existing threads on the load. When threads are not possible, lifting eye nuts according to DIN 582 are used instead. Ganter offers these standard parts in two materials: steel and stainless steel. However, a look in the Ganter portfolio reveals far better and stronger lifting points that are optimized for specific materials and – most important – easier to handle. In particular, the integrated RFID tags are worth mentioning as a special highlight. These make it possible to clearly identify specific lifting points during wear and safety inspections and manage them digitally and without system interruption. Such RFID tags can be found in the lifting eye bolt GN 581 and the lifting eye nut GN 583, for example, which are still able to rotate around their vertical axis even after installation. Both of these options also identify load rings GN 586.1, although here the lifting eye can also be folded down. And thanks to the eye ring with ball bearing, load rings GN 5860 are fully rotatable even under load. Load rings GN 587.1 are not screwed in but welded on. This load ring is also suitable for outdoor applications since the design of the weld-on block permits a closed seam that is safe from corrosion. The ring itself can be swiveled by 180 degrees, and an optionally integrated spring can secure it in any position. The lifting point GN 589 for welding can accept loads from any direction and impresses with its minimal height. This is an extremely important feature when the maximum hook height of the lifting equipment is limited.

Aluminum Profile Systems Designed for User-Friendliness
Ganter has long offered an extensive range of accessories for building machines, systems or workstations with standard profile systems. The aluminum profiles themselves have now also been added, along with the associated connecting parts. Ganter always thinks in terms of applications – that is the great strength of the market leader in standard parts. The same is true for the newest additions to the product portfolio: system-based aluminum profiles. The anodized, extruded profiles match the dimensions and properties of the longstanding systems of Bosch and Item, with heavy and light versions, a variety of cross-sections, dimensions and slot arrangements. For some time, Ganter’s product range has included many key elements for the custom use of profile systems. These include diverse angle brackets, T-nuts and everything else for attaching parts directly and indirectly to modular profile constructions: U-handles, hinges, panel support clamps and leveling feet, just to list a few examples. Now the profiles themselves are included, as are specific connecting elements and other parts, such as cover and edging profiles, end caps, joints and foot plates. Thanks to these additions, it is now possible to build entire fixtures, machines, systems or workstations with Ganter parts – with no need to order additional parts from other suppliers, making procurement simpler and more efficient.

Hygienic Design for Standard Parts
Ganter develops sealed standard stainless steel elements that meet stringent hygiene requirements. Maximum hygiene is one of the absolutely basic prerequisites wherever food is produced. However, hygiene also plays a major role in other sectors — from medical technology and the pharmaceutical industry to manufacturers of dispersion paints. Today, it is all about producing products without preservative additives — and this is only possible in production environments which have high purity levels. Since even the tiniest weak points can cause entire production lines to be contaminated, Ganter decided to develop a special series of standard parts that meet the very high EHEDG requirements and the 3-A Sanitary Standard. Ganter offers a variety of knobs, handles, clamping levers, leveling feet and screws under the label "Hygienic Design", all of which are optimized for minimal contamination and easy cleaning. Stainless steel — with either ground or polished surfaces — is the material used in all of these cases. The maximum surface roughness is kept below Ra 0.8 μm, so that dirt particles cannot adhere and can be reliably removed during cleaning. Another key feature of the Ganter standard parts is their freedom from "dead space". There are no interior areas in which substances can accumulate. A hygienically safe sealing concept, verified by software simulation, guarantees that the FDA-compliant elastomer seals are all installed flush with the surface and fulfill their function in the long term. This prevents problems from developing without being noticed. At first glance, most standard parts appear to be located far away from the actual work areas, but airborne spores from microorganisms can spread rapidly and widely. Long-Lasting and Exact: Pneumatic Clamps from Ganter
Ganter regularly revises its range of standard parts to implement new technical features and respond to changing application requirements. The pneumatic clamps have now received a number of updates aimed primarily at a longer lifespan. Pneumatic clamps are standard elements in jig construction, and Ganter has carried these important fastening systems in its portfolio for some time. The product family has now been reworked – primarily to increase its lifespan and reliability. The most significant improvement concerns the pneumatic cylinder, which now operates with a magnetic piston and has T-slots on the housing. Thanks to this slot, it is now much easier to attach sensors, while the magnetic piston permits more precise querying of the current position by the new, modern sensor GN 3380, which entirely replaces the previous sensors. Of course, other sensors can also be precisely installed in the slot.

Opening and closing – with specialty hinges from Ganter
From simple hinges for welding on to multi-joint hinges with complex kinematics, the Ganter selection has everything needed for superior door and flap solutions – including extra functions. You might think that when it comes to opening and closing, all the possibilities of hinges have already been exhausted. Not even close. Ganter regularly succeeds in making further improvements to hinges, adding practical extra features or creating designs for very particular niche applications.

Highly Secure Connection
Lockable standard parts are increasingly common in machine and plant construction, but they are also used in event hardware for locking and securing a variety of parts. Ganter is now expanding its range of indexing elements to include the lockable stainless steel indexing plungers GN 814. The integrated closing mechanism protects against unauthorized or accidental operation. Lockable indexing plungers GN 814 of stainless steel have the same basic functions as Ganter’s tried and tested selection of indexing plungers. What’s new is the clever addition of a locking function for greater safety and security. This is accomplished with a lock integrated into the black plastic head. On types A and AK, the plunger pin is secured in the front position by turning the key 180 degrees and removing it. The plunger then cannot be moved out of the base position. On types E and EK, the plunger pin can additionally be secured in the rear position, offering a lockable way to prevent the plunger from engaging, which is useful in situations where the plunger pin must be kept from protruding at times. On all types, the key can also be pulled out in the unlocked position to prevent unauthorized locking. The stainless steel indexing plunger is available with two different lock versions: Lock type SC allows all indexing plungers in use to be operated with the same key, while lock type SU requires a different key for each indexing plunger. To prevent unauthorized disassembly or adjustment of the indexing plunger, the hex nut used for screwing the part in or out is only accessible while it is unlocked and the head has been pulled back. A lock nut is available as an optional accessory that can be ordered with the type designations AK or EK with the appended “K” signifying a lock nut.

Smart Pneumatic Indexing Plungers
Ganter is expanding its range of indexing plungers with a technical treat. The newest addition, type GN 817.7, is pneumatically actuated and can be seamlessly integrated into automated processes thanks to state-of-the-art sensors. There aren’t actually any indexing plunger variants lacking from Ganter’s portfolio. Nevertheless, the development team consistently succeeds in integrating new functionality that opens up new application possibilities. The most recent indexing plunger development is pneumatically actuated. Plus, the part also detects both end positions with just a single sensor. This makes GN 817.7 a logical advancement over the manually operated indexing plunger GN 817.6. The new variant can also be used in hard-to-reach locations and can be integrated into automated processes. What’s more, GN 817.7 can be used as a replacement for GN 817.6 without any changes in dimensioning or signal processing. The position detection of GN 817.7 is once again based on proven magnet technology but with some important new innovations. Not only are both end positions now detected but they can also be individually defined. The sensor teaching can be performed directly on-site with a small operating element on the sensor, which is held in place by a clip and supported by a cable. There are even LEDs for visual feedback. The other option for teaching is to use the convenient IO-Link feature via the system control unit. This standardized interface makes teaching a quick affair and also allows for immediate replacement in the case of faults, which significantly reduces downtime. The high signals upon reaching the respective end positions are transmitted directly over the 4-pin M8 cable plug to the control unit of the system. Precision Hinges
New Hinge Generation for Precise Movements The new precision hinges from Ganter – available in many different versions – are wear resistant while delivering extreme precision and exhibiting zero backlash. Certain applications, such as in jig construction, automation systems or testing systems, require moving elements supported by extremely precise bearings. In concrete terms, this means a combination of maximum repeatability, zero backlash, long service life and adjustability. These are exactly the properties of the new precision hinges GN 7580, which might be more accurately referred to as joints. Of course, the Ganter portfolio already contains many different hinge versions, but these new products are generally suited to a unique range of applications. Facing increased demand for extremely precise pivot bearings, Ganter decided to design optimal solutions to fill this gap. The GN 7580 family consists of three size variants, each with four inner and outer leaf types. The leaves differ in turn by the type of mounting, which can be tangential or radial and make use of countersunk cylindrical bores or integrated threaded bushings of stainless steel. Plus, Ganter put thought into ensuring simple and positionally accurate mounting: The fitting bores ensure exact positioning of the hinges during installation. The four leaf types are designed to be mutually compatible and can be used together as needed in any combination. As usual with Ganter, they can even be ordered separately via specific article numbers. This ensures that the precision hinges cover a very wide range of applications. In general, Ganter supplies the precision hinges pre-assembled according to the customer-specific configuration. New Product Roll-Out
Ganter is expanding its portfolio with a completely new product family: a thoroughly designed selection of various casters and wheels. Ganter’s standard parts selection is growing once again – with the recent addition of an entirely new category for wheels and casters. The establishment of the new catalog group 3.10 is a clear indication that these mobility-enabling standard parts will have all the room they need. That is only logical given that the wheels and casters serve to complement their proven but static leveling feet relatives, which are available in many different versions. As always, Ganter is entirely focused on practical requirements: the individual types are organized according to the applicable ISO testing procedures, making it easy to associate them with the most important configuration parameters. For example, the new range includes light duty casters with low load capacity, medium duty casters for industrial use and heavy duty casters designed for high dynamic loads coupled with higher travel speeds. Casters are ready-to-install parts consisting of a wheel and a bracket, with the latter generally made of bent sheet steel, except for the heavy duty versions of welded steel. The bracket, available in swivel or fixed versions, holds the wheel and serves for mounting the caster. Fixed casters provide lateral guidance to ensure stable travel both straight and on curves. The swivel brackets with ball bearings enable maximum maneuverability with 360-degree rotation and movement in any direction, a property that is particularly advantageous in tight spaces. Optionally integrated total lock brakes prevent the wheel from turning or rotating in the steering axis, and variants are also available with extendable leveling feet for an even more secure stand. Linear actuator connector configured online
Ganter is repositioning itself for linear actuator connectors and will soon beoffering connectors with individual specifications. The real-time online configurator makes this possible. Linear actuator connectors have more different parameters than Ganter‘s Standard Parts strategy could cover — until now. The market leader in standard parts is now presenting a completely new concept that combines the benefits of Standard Parts with a wide range of customization options. This customer-centric strategy is made possible by the new online configurator, which can be used to specify the central parameters of a linear actuator connector and output them in real time. The online configurator offers several advantages over the previous standard offering. In addition to the customizability, it makes the ordering process more efficient because the system immediately checks the selection for plausibility and indicates weight, price and delivery time in real time. The latter takes slightly longer than when ordering standard linear actuator connector, but the ability to enter individual specifications should outweigh this by far. Simultaneous transfer of options into 3D data sets enables the customer to immediately check whether the selected configuration fits into one‘s own design. This aspect is all the more valuable for time-critical tasks. More information on Ganter standard parts can be found on the internet at www.ganternorm.com
